So 2 years in going on three and your going to say it's been underwhelming? When it took Sony almost 3 years to fire on all cylinders for PS3, and at least 2 for xbox360.
By 2009 we had the big games that showcased why you bought a PS3. We now are getting shit tons of games this year, and next year that are in line when PS3 had their big titles.
WTF do you mean I fall in the target? WTF does that even mean, what kind of a bullshit comment is that?
The fact Patrick brought up that some developers sighed when they heard about it, other's were confused. Does that sound like something all Developers are excited for? When they finally have their engines, and skd's running how they should be for really good production? The amount of detail seen so far in 2015, and upcoming 2016 games shows dev finally have a handle on their tools.
So I disagree with Sony/MS coming out with something like this unless this is something of a more new console for next generation.
Console cycles exist for a reason. It helps temper expectations, helps people have some kind of perceived end date for life cycle. I really don't see the pro's outweighing the con's for developers, or the chip manufacturer's in the long run. Having set hardware to me helps put pressure on developers, pushes them to be more creative in different ways, if SOny/MS just start upgrading the consoles every couple years, that push will turn into complacency. Because of the awful hardware decisions Sony made, and coding issues with PS3 we got Last of us, puppeteer, Beyond 2 souls, among others that pushed what PS3 could do.
PS4 seems to be finally hitting it's stride development wise, and seeing how engines are getting better optimized, we are getting better quality games.
So no I disagree, and I feel your statement about me is unneeded.
