From the comments section on the EU PS Blog...
I’m glad there’s a 30fps option. 60fps aids shooting but robs the game of its atmosphere and tension. Tomb Raider on PS4 was proof of that. In a game like TLOU, that atmosphere is crucial.

But if an option to lock to 30fps is that easy to implement then what I’d really like is an option to lock to 24fps, like films. It could be really cool, and if not you wouldn’t have to use it anyway. You could even get the classic Ocarina of Time effect, which I loved as a kid. There’s a reason that game was so atmospheric and well-loved, after all.

I know! I came back here too.

Protect me from all of the 60fps elitists!! I am all for some 60 fps as it is a rare treat in a major console release but some of those folks are straight CRAZY!

On a side note. Since we now call lower fps "filmic" can we call higher fps "gamic" or something along those lines?

Photomode has me so unbelievably hyped, like, more hyped than I was before. I said it when I first tried it in Second Son, I'll say it again: Photomode needs to be in every first party PS4 game from here on out.

Except that re4 is anything but horrible and 3/4 of the game is the best escort mission ever fucking created.

Oh sorry, not knocking RE4. I haven't played it in ages but it's one of my favorite survival horror type games. I don't really remember those specific missions.

In general I hate missions that require you to worry about some stupid NPC who seems to want to just run off to their death.

Why is 60fps important?

"It was a toss-up before; people were saying that you lose quality and graphics and what not, but being able to compare apples to apples like we have now with The Last of Us, going back and playing the 30 Hz version feels broken."

Take that 'cinematic' gamers

You escort Ashley for 1/4th of the game, max. And while RE4 is one of the greatest games of all time, the escort parts are fast from the best part of that game. I don't want to get into one of those overdone RE4 v. TLOU discussions, that's not what this is about at all, but TLOU would not be a better game if Ellie were fragile and needed protecting.
