Maybe I'll get un juniored afterall.lol

So 10mill shipped to retailers i'am guessing about 9mil sold to actually customers?

I dont know what sony's latest sales are around 14mill? MS are certainly catching Up.

There is no clear winner by any stretch of the imagination. Price, awareness and games are what matters as this sales spike has shown.

I have to say MS seem to be advertising more in the UK, I dont watch tv and use adblock so where adds can reach me is limted, but MS still get to me, I have heard an assasins creed xbox ad on spotify multiple times and have seen COD:AW xbox adverts on bustops in my little english town. MS are fighting.

XB1 to beat PS4 by 1m before Christmas confirmed /s. Also if it was so close they would have revealed it by now. The fact that we haven't gotten updated sold to customers figures since march this year should tell you the state of things.

I'm afraid.

Afraid of the grown adults who seem to take this stuff seriously.

Wanna talk about porn instead?

They'll hit 10m very soon, with all these deals they have going on at the moment, possibly even more.

Yep, they're almost at 10M shipped right now. They should hit 10M shipped at any minute now!

They just couldn't wait to announce it though. It's a pretty big deal.

I dont know hence the question mark lol.

So if theres more then 1 million systems throughout stores around the world, what do u guys think, how would one estimate the actual sales figure, 8 mill maybe?

More like 7M and that's likely beingthat may be generous.
As of the end of september they were at 3.5M sold-through in the US.
The launch period ratio was 1.8:1.2 US versus ROTW, and XB1 sales collasped in most markets outside the US/UK.

Well Eurogamer is running with the PR.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-11-12-xbox-one-has-sold-in-almost-10m-units-to-retailers

Sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on 2nd November," Xbox corporate vice president of marketing, strategy and business, Yusuf Mehdi, proclaimed on the Xbox News Wire, referring to its US limited-time offer of $350 for Microsoft's latest console. Previously, it was $400 without Kinect, whereas it launched at $500 with the at-the-time mandatory motion-tracking camera.

Mehdi also noted that sales tripled the week after the price drop, as compared to the previous week. This was likely aided by the recent release of Xbox One-exclusives Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sunset Overdrive.

Microsoft still has yet to reveal how many Xbox One units have actually been sold to consumers, but we're pretty sure it's numberwang.

I meant 10m sold through. The Christmas period will be huge for them, and I don't think they're finished yet.

The efforts to downplay the announcement are predictable and hilarious, anyway... Good news: more competition is always a good thing.

Also we got it, shipped not sold to costumers is actually right there in the text, still an impressive come back for the brand.

While it's easy to parse the PR and find caveats galore - nearing 10m shipped, leading for the past two weeks in the US - it's nice to get an update on shipments and the price cut had a marked effect. Now to see what it translates to in terms of end user sales and whether it's sustained over the holidays.

...actually that's a lot of caveats.

Still though. As I've been saying since the cut, with Black Friday deals set to get even more incredible for XBO, I do believe Microsoft has the month of November under their belt for a win. That'll give 'em a PR victory they need in any event, since Holiday months are so pivotal. They are clearly playing hardcore hardball, as the deals are insane. They're trying anything to salvage their one real remaining viable territory, and it seems to be having some success as of now. Consumers said this is the price they think the XBO is a value for, I think. I wonder if they'll consider keeping this price for the long term.

PS4's GTAV+TLOU bundle should do quite well for itself, many units sold... but I do think at least November is Microsoft's.

I'm expecting the X1 to win nov&dec in NA. The X1 deals are crazy.

Amazon ranking hasn't been wrong since the start of this gen, and the X1 is charting way higher than the Ps4 this month. So far.

I was just at my local best buy in the Toronto area and there were only a couple of Xbox ones left and halo was sold out. There were stacks of ps4's but I don't know if maybe they just got them in.

Speaking of anectodal evidence, I'm in the local best buy of Toronto and they have stacks and stacks of X1's sitting there.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Approximately 10 million must be their shipments for the entirety of Q4 (Oct-Dec); still Xbox One has not sold that many. I'm not even sure it reached in the upper 6 million yet ww.

Competition in of itself is not good or bad, it's neutral. The competition must be worthy of merit for it to be worth anything. No comment on whether XBO is, but the phrase on its face is pretty meaningless. Competition is good sometimes, and when other products fail heavily in the face of some other product, it means the market has spoken - which is exactly how the free market should work.

That's interesting! So, they haven't yet shipped 10M units but you think they're just about to sell 10M units? Ok!

Sigh.

Over the Christmas period, which is from now untill the end of December, they will pass 10m shipped, and also sell through 10m, in part due to how aggressive they're being. It really isn't that hard to comprehend what I'm saying.

It's GTA V and The Last of Us. It's not crazy to think that that bundle will do extremely well.
It's just as good of a bunduru as any of the Bone bundles, if not better. Look at the way Unity turned out. Maybe I'm giving online feedback too much sway but that could influence sales.
