I'm not sure that that SHARP screen tech [which was rumored to be used by Nintendo] can have holes in it.
Who knows, maybe they have upgraded their screen tech...
According to one source, Nintendo is considering a doughnut-shaped screen with a hole in the middle.

The problem is, this is nothing new. It's seemingly expensive, proprietary (like the WiiU gamepad, probably won't be sold separately in the states) and touch overlays have been done on smartphones with emulators since smartphones had touchscreens. With no d-pad, you can say goodbye to sidescrollers and with no pivoted edges on the analog (hopefully only due to prototype), you can say goodbye to any analog precision.haptics?
Wouldn't be the first time early Nintendo hardware had the "wrong" analogue sticks for a console.
Maybe the haptic feedback is good enough. Being able to make up new buttons depending on the game sounds good. But, the point of the post was that we just don't know how it'll be handledIt doesnt stop the main concern:
No buttons.

I would like to be wrong, but it won't replace properly buttons...Haptic feedback?
Amazing how people change their views when their favorite company is involved. 😏But touchscreen buttons? Nah, just nah. That's the worst of all worlds.
It might have advanced haptics, like the Steam Controller.

chill man you're not missing out on anything
I know what the HEX means. But it's unclear if he meant it shouldn't have been exposed because it's an outdated prototype or if it's the real thing.
If he knows something he might as well just say it or shut up.
He just confirmed it to be real, whatever it is. That's good enough for me.I know what the HEX means. But it's unclear if he meant it shouldn't have been exposed because it's an outdated prototype or if it's the real thing.

Aww shit I cracked my NX screen, guess I need a whole new controller since I can't even see where the fuck my buttons are now.Hopefully the controllers are easier to replace than the Wii U ones.

Yes - it's real. I trust rosti enough and was already leaning to it not being fake. It had too much of all the patents included and looked too much like a real dev unit compared to most fakes that look like a consumer grade product.
Hope it's the handheld.

Again, we don't know how it'll be handled or if this is the final device if it's real.No it's not good enough. It'll never replace the accuracy and feeling of a button.
Heck, what about the dpad ?
Is Nintendo really dumb enough to cut the main inputs on their controller ?
Even if it's a prototype, it must be fairly indicative of the end functionality.I know what the HEX means. But it's unclear if he meant it shouldn't have been exposed because it's an outdated prototype or if it's the real thing.
