For those asking, @Naughty_Dog is developing The Last of Us Remastered and we're targeting 60fps. More info to come. #PS4

I know this isn't the popular opinion on GAF, but 60fps honestly is not always desirable. Don't get me wrong, I love 60fps as much as the next guy, but this game is overally very slow paced, and additionally not the type of game where you need minimal input lag. I'm not saying 60fps wouldn't benefit this game, but rather that for a game of this nature I think maxed out IQ at capped 30fps would be a better experience.

I agree with this post completely.

I'm hating this trend of remasters, but I'm a definite part of the problem since I keep buying them anyways. u_u

Only way to break the trend is to go with PC gaming. An unfortunate side effect of continued disregard for BC on consoles is milking of upgraded rereleases.

Doesn't really work on games like this though as there is no PC version.

Speak for yourself. Playing this game in hard mode had me in situations where I had to fumble context sensitive keys that doesn't register especially when dealing with clickers or multiple enemy encounters. There are times when I have encountered scenarios and not have the controller input not keeping up with my agency. It is the worst fucking nonsense in a video game as it completely dismisses the whole point of the interactive nature of the medium. I don't believe 30fps could keep up with me even if it was locked. No, this game needs as low-latency input as necessary especially in a multiplayer game when you could be a ping disadvantage.

There are limits to how much you can push in a last-gen game, otherwise mods would be blasting games like Ryse/Second Son eons ago. I'm pretty sure they can cap TLOU visuals at it's peak while maintaining 60fps - any further, and we might be going to TO: 1886 territory and that is something I refuse to believe that can actually happen unless they rebuild the game from the ground up.

Anybody else notice this from digital Pre-Order?

YOU MAY NOT CANCEL A PRE-ORDER AT ANY TIME AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERS, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS.

Never saw that before.

I'd be in the dick
The price.

And the inevitable bundled Uncharted PS4 multiplayer beta.

Uncharted 4 MP beta seems more likely to go with The Order 1886. TLoU needs no help selling and already has MP.

Targeting 60? Oh lord... please lock it to 30 if you can't maintain 60fps solid enough.

This is still a PS3 game at heart and ND themselves are working on it. I doubt the performance will be like Killzone or Second Son. Tomb Raider DE framerate is what I expect to be the worst case scenario for this.

Day 1 ... can sell the PS3 version, get money to put into PS4 version. If I can download the Remastered version for cheaper using the PS3 version .. might entertain that

If the cutscene character models can be brought to use for real time gameplay it would be considered next gen.

1080p 60FPS for TLoU will make the game not only that much more playable and enjoyable, but look better as well. The PS3 game could get some slow downs (not often), but if they can keep it at 60 locked, goddamn that would be something.

Do love the idea of Director's Commentary on every cutscene.

Amazing game for those that haven't been able to play it yet and have a PS4 now.
