IGN: Dark Soul 3 confirmed real by leaked promo art - Early 2016

Same, souls fatigue is a thing guys.

I think people pretend the other annualized series were always bad games because it makes things easier. Understanding that before those series were driven into the ground people really liked them is scary because it makes it clear the same can happen here.

I guess it's a good thing I am playing Dark Souls II. Still surprised that this is happening so fast. If it's rushed, maybe it will be bad?

Who tells this game is rushed. We don't know where development started.

Why does Bloodborne not count? That's 3 years in a row if this 2016 date holds.

Bloodborne is not Dark Souls 3. And even if you count it, it's not different from what From did with the King Field series (precursor of the Soul series).

It's nothing new for From anualizing it's series. The problem is not that, the problem is when you can't maintaint the quality. So far From archieved that with the Souls games and Bloodborne.

And now I'm pretty sure Miyazaki is not directing this one.

Which really does suck. This apparently this will be the B team again.

I would rather wait longer to get games that are guaranteed to be higher quality, with the team I know will do it right.

Dark Souls 3
Mirrors Edge Catalyst
Fallout 4
Uncharted Trilogy

So many games announced already. I expect barely any new surprises at E3 and peiple will get dissapointed.

Well even if there are no surprises left (there are) we still get lots of footage and info

Its going to be a great E3 and a great year once again for games. And 2016 as well its looking like

If it's got to happen, I just really wish they leave DS1 out of it.

No fan service of Sunbro covenants or reincarnated characters/storylines and bosses. Come up with your own thing.

Asking again - people saying everything got announced today. What else did we get outside of this and Mirrors Edge (which was already announced last year)?

I could believe that this hits early 2016. I can't imagine that the whole DS2 team was busy with Scholar of the First sin, it was a relatively straightforward port.

But I still havent even beat Bloodborne... Actually, now that I think about it, I need to finish Dark Souls 1... Witcher 3 is killing my time.

From Software is huge now so they have different teams working on separate games. The DS2 team has worked on it since DS2 shipped i reckon with a smaller team porting it to next gen.
Here's for NO MORE LAST GEN PLEASE.

Well then, let's see how this plays out! Hopefully we'll get some gameplay and a confirmation of platforms at E3.

Wonder how significant the guy in the art being on fire is.

So does this mean Dark Souls has become the non-Miyazaki series, relegated to the B-team?

I honestly don't feel like they've had enough time to craft an experience that lives up to the name. The burden on proof is on them to convince me they have, but until then, I'm pretty turned off by the annualization.

It's Dark Souls 3. Of course it's gonna have references from the older games. There's still an on-going story in the Dark universe.

Rumor says this is a Miyazaki game. I don't think that hard to believe he worked on both, it's not like Miyazaki has been on Bloodborne till release date.

because some people dont have a PS4 and this overall idea of "OMG WE JUST HAD A SOULS GAME ITS TOO SOON" is incredibly arrogant because it assumes all those souls fans played or have access to BB.

I know at least 2 people that love the Souls games and cant play BB and are happy as shit about this

Or people who are fans of the series would rather get excited for a new game in the series than be pessimistic whiners? There's no direct correlation between people celebrating DS3 announcement and people bashing annualised franchises, if there is I'd like to see it, maybe in this thread for starters.

I don't see a problem with the release pattern of the souls games. It only seems often thanks to Bloodborne which isn't apart of the Souls series. In the end it shouldn't matter if there's a new one every year so long as they are polished and good games. It's when they release broken and terrible that there is a problem.

That and I prefer variety in builds/classes and BB doesn't offer that like Souls does.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Waaaaay too soon, and explains why it looks more like a cobbled together expansion than anything new and fresh.

Damn, feels bad son :( What was once this fresh new dynamic series is into the disappointing milk zone already.

Hopefully it's great, but early 2016 just makes me even more certain that this is more of a Dark Souls 2.5. I want a big sequel, with lots of changes and this seems like it will mostly just be more of the same.

I don't want Assassins Creed style annualization to ruin the Soul's games.
