All the endings are just going to be Geralt ploughing different colored women as an explosion is going off in the background.

If I want to see sex I'll just watch porn. Stuff like this, even in TV and movies, just screams "look how mature we are!" "Adult themes!" "Not for kids!" "This game is for adults and adults like sex so we put sex in our game!"
I feel like these 'mature themes aren't mature' posts are an indication of immaturity masked as maturity. Which is pretty meta, really.

There is a legitimate place in videogames for sex and sexuality.

There had better be gay sex or I'm not buying the fucking game!

It's about time I get pandered to as well, as a stra... gay white male.

People cry over awkward sex in games and games need to cover mature subjects.

Game well known for handling mature subjects and relationships is called creepy and pandering for trying to improve tech and stop awkward sex scenes.

Fucking hell people

So... is really the Witcher series so heavy in drama and relationships that sex scenes don't seem out of place? It has never given me that impression.

You're right, there can be a legitimate place if it's done tastefully. But for the most part, his point stands. It's 2015 where we have porn at the tip of our fingers whenever we want it. It's place in movies (where it's almost never seen anymore anyway) and games is very dated. It doesn't have the "wow" factor it had 20-30 years ago.

I think sex in witcher games have always had their own place and time within the story. Since the game involves geralt who has ongoing intimate relationships with 2 women. Whenever he sees them he has some fun which is completely ordinary.

He also has access to multitudes of women and whores throughout the world. Since Triss and Yennefer are sorceresses, exclusivity was never a problem. Also witchers are immune to diseases and viruses. he can raw dog all day.

In all seriousness, agreed. Triss was very well done.

It definitely depends on how it's portrayed, but I agree with that.

I don't want to say it makes them immature, but it's definitely reactionary to consider it immature pandering without having seen it.

Are you saying the only purpose of sex in a story is to "wow" the audience? Does it deserve less representation just because it's become more ubiquitous?

There's both.

There's scenes that are meaningful and support the story.

And there's going into a brothel or a woman being particularily "grateful". There was a lot less of this in the witcher 2 but it was still present.

You can also simply say "no thanks" if you don't care for it.

Personally, I think its really unnecessary. It does not make it feel more mature to me. Exact opposite, really. Makes it seem pandering and gratuitous.

It seems ridiculously premature (no pun intended) to make any decision about how it affects the maturity of the game, similarly you cant say if its pandering or gratuitous yet, all three of those rely on the context in which the sexual content is delivered

Your point seems based on faulty implicit premise i.e. that a sex scene in a movie or game is always meant to serve the same purpose as pornography. While thats certainly true in some siutations suggesting its true in all situations is incorrect, a sex scene can serve a useful narrative purpose.

That 16 hours of mo cap data should be its own video to buy. You know someone wants to watch some mo cap even if nothing is actually going on.

Wow!! What year is this??

Interesting that we can get a AAA game with this much attention to detail and time invested on the sex.
