Diablo 3 getting Necromancer (paid), remaking Diablo 1 in D3, new zones (free)

If it truly is $20 I think I'm done with anything Blizzard related in the future. I'm already kinda there after D3 and the RMAH and the way they have run their micro-transactions for the other games.

Yeah considering RoS was 35, that much for a character would be insane, right? Right?

It doesn't really look like Diablo at all. Hope the event is fun, but this is far from a "remake" of Diablo.

I genuinely enjoyed my time with Diablo 3 but all of this news is worse case scenario stuff. Limited time on the Diablo 1 dungeon? Fuck off Blizzard.

Give us the deeets plz. :)

The "remake" is just a dungeon with 16 levels and 4 bosses. It's not going to have NPCs, so no story. Not really a remake of Diablo, just a dungeon run. The tilesets don't really look like the original, reused assets from Diablo 3. Event is once a year in January.

A new Armory system to quickly swap out specs and armor sets.

Unsocketing gems will be free soon.

OMG the complaints on the forum are hilarious "this isn't the content I wanted for the game I think is terrible and broken and ugly and a complete joke/waste of my time."

Like why are these people even playing Diablo 3 let alone getting disappointing over new content if the game is so fucking bad to begin with. I would never devote myself to something I hate so much.

Not even new assets to put under that filter? And no NPCs at all? Wow, it keeps getting worse.

You do teleport to Old Tristram, but everyone is dead and the city is in ruin. Pretty disappointed in that. They are adding more old music to the game, though.

Edit: They did say there would be plenty of easter eggs to find in Old Tristram.

I just want online characters for the console version. Right now online play on console is useless. Just do it like D2 did it.

Necromancers pets will differ from Witch Doctors in that they are active/passive abilities. You can tell them who to attack. They use Essence/Corpses instead of Mana.

Cause they were bad ass as fuck. Once you gear one to a certain point you carry an entire team just for yourself, I actually miss that feeling in 3 when I really want it in high grs with useless scrubs.

A good necromancer skeleton army build could easily get all the keys and get a torch solo. Best thing about it was you didn't need badass gear to do it. The only advantage Paladin had was it could mf run faster and pvp. That's why I mf ran with a paladin.

As underwhelming as this is they really should have worked to have the Necromancer ready to play today and offered it for free. It would have softened the blow a bit for sure.

Necromancer Pack is due out the second half of next year, no price announced. Fucking yikes.

The bolded is probably the best thing I've heard so far. Albeit somewhat belated.

How often does Blizz put the base game and ROS on sale?

With how much the game is said to have improved, since launch, I need to experience this again.

Oh that killed me. I was hoping a january, february release....

That's a shame. Not a fan of the look/feel of D3. Was hoping for a proper 'remake' of either D1 or D2.

(Or just let us add these games to the Battle.net client, FFS Blizzard)

Welp. If ever there was an incentive for me to finally check out PoE, this crushing letdown is it.

Fucking clown shoes, Blizzard.

They really have handled Diablo 3 so terribly in the past year. They've left it out to die with very minimal changes. It was at least maintaining some interest when they were iterating on the sets and tweeking them each season. They just gave up that approach to bloat numbers and this past season they haven't even bothered to change anything. If all they add is the necromancer without revamping other class sets, the game won't really be worth coming back to.

I understand they're now getting into the development of a new diablo behind the scenes and anything that happens to d3 is basically life support. They just shouldn't have teased anything to get people's hopes up. I mean, they really couldn't have put in enough resources to get diablo 2 to run in HD at this point? Fairly piss poor 20th anniversary.

Second half of 2017, what a bummer. Diablo dev team that small now?

All the evidence points to them having the main chunk of the team working on D4, so it makes sense that they would have a much smaller group working on D3 in the mean time.

I understand everyones frustrations, but games take a while to be ready to be shown, and by all accounts whatever D4 is currently it's only been in production for a short time. No need to write the entire company off just for that.

I'm still waiting for a buff to Wrath of the Wastes. I feel that day may never come.

Wasn't implying necros weren't just relating my own experience or why clannmates of mine loved that class.

I am pretty sure they are making D4 but it is going to take them more than they would like to, so they put a small part of the team to make new patches for D3 to keep people interested. From the things they showed in the panel and the early stages the Necromancer is it is obvious they haven't been developing this for more than 2 months.
