I can't get over how bad FFXV's cover is

As a fan of the series I love the plain white background with the logo.
But i'm not the one they need to convince to buy the game sooo...

Maybe the cover isn't as bad as it looks to us. Maybe it looks good if you're new to the series.

Someone should mockup the back cover art so I can print this out in advance

I´m getting this one because of the awful "One Day Edition" shit.

*Drools and pre-orders*.

I hadn't thought about the game's multiple editions until this thread happened, and I'm glad this box art was brought up! To me it looks way better than the rest (even the JP one, which isn't bad at all anyway).

Don't know why it suddenly got me excited enough to pre-order, but there's no going back!

12 days to go, let's do this.

I don't think it's that bad, but the japanese one is way better.

The key art one is just plain horrible. It doesn't help that it neglects all the bros (for better or worse they are a huge part of the agame) for a secondary NPC.

Apparently someone from SE's marketing decided that the soldiers with the machine guns were more suitable for the Western market.

Yep, I'll definitely take advantage of the reversible cover, but I agree that it's disappointing that the standard cover is rather bad.

Japan got the better cover:

The Japanese cover makes it look like the game is about arguing with your friends while lost in the middle of nowhere lol

I'm still mad we didn't get this.

I've pre-ordered the steel book and I hope it looks better in person but this right here is the best of the lot.

Art Book, Game, 2 Blu-Rays. Nice box casing to seal it up. Done

Get the digital version now and buy the physical "FFXV mega Hyper Complete Edition: Director's Cut" that MAYBE will include all the DLC.

Imo the theme of friendship doesn't stand well in US cover since you battle in a party in pretty much every other FF main game too

I'm glad Asia version is using Japanese cover.
I'm getting digital version.

I like both covers to be honest. I might actually like the actual cover more.

The logo cover is bad, the previous ff logo covers looked great but not this one

Yeah, its pretty awful. Actually, this is one of the reasons I decided to go for the limited edition, which has much better art imo

og cover looks fine. looks like a game where dudes w huge swords and a nice car fight monsters coming out of the sky.

second cover looks nice but is confusing. why does he have two swords? is this a wedding? how come one of the robots is bowing down and another one is pointing a gun at them?

third cover, logo on white, is boring. put that on the DVD itself.

"Wow, he's a badass! I gotta try this!"

is this a wedding?

"Sweet, a love story! Sold!"

how come one of the robots is bowing down and another one is pointing a gun at them?

"Political intrigue!? Gimme!"

Goddamn, that first cover exemplifies everything I despise with modern FF games:

-Over-designed
-Over-stylized
-Poses that make no sense when you stop to think about it.
-Ridiculous weapons (a staple of FF to be sure, but holy shit did they go overboard starting with XIII)
-Cliche "villain overlooking the hero" like countless Hollywood posters. FFVIII's cover is also guilty of this
except not, kinda sorta

The other covers look okay though. As always, the blank save for the logo Japanese cover is the best.

FF covers have been shit since FF13. Original artwork always trumps CG imo. Post MGS4 covers are terrible for the same reason.
