NIntendo owns every part of them though.'

They created these companies to manage them.
Umm no it doesn't. Nintendo, fa freak and creatures created TPC as a joint venture. It's not the sole owner. Although Nintendo is the owner for the copyright to "Pokemon"

Game Freak is a completely seperate company hence why you saw Tembo the Bad assElephant release on everything apart from Nintendo.

A question about Pokken:

With the Switch being more powerful than the WiiU... and with the Switch promoting local two-player with its detachable joy-cons... Do you think they might rework the local multiplayer so it can function on a single screen?

Like maybe they could split the TV screen during the field phase, giving each player their own view with a reworked camera, and then during duel phase it can switch to a single shared screen (and vice-versa).

I mean, wireless multiplayer is a given. But the above would sure be nice...

I think they would have to heavily remix the gameplay just because the gamepad doesn't exist for the Switch. During field phase they could have it play like the more recent Naruto games where the entire arena is free for both pokemon to jump and and fight in.

It's pretty clear Nintendo is gearing up for Pokémon Dash 2 but whatever.

You blind sheep can keep distracting your self from the truth while I warm up my stylus hand.

It is a wonder how many people know about this, and how under wraps it is. It's really nice to see such loyalty inside the company.

Nintendo bout to win the generation in less than 12 hours.

J/k there aren't enough Switches to go around for that. 'Least not yet.

Seriously. They could drop the stars nuke. I don't think they should release it this year. I hope it's announced for next year.

10 more hours everyone. It's amazing how there's been no leaks. Even the direct was a surprise.

They will announce Pokemon Stars for 3DS and a port of Pokken for Switch. Fucking mark this post.

Watch, they're just going to pimp Magikarp game and announce the already leaked Fire and Ice event for PokemonGo and maybe hint at the summer event that was also already leaked..

Nintendo still owns the pokemon name and all other creature names. Theoretically Game freak can create a game identical to Pokémon then change the names and it will be fine. Pikachu, Charizard and Blastoise on the other hand will likely stay as Nintendo exclusives forever. Or until Nintendo becomes third party.

Has a mainline Pokémon game released on a system with less than 10 million users? This makes me think it's not happening...3DS yes. Switch - 13 percent chance.

Magikarp Game for switch
the Magikarp game is actually pretty good though so I wouldn't mind this

The way Switch is selling, if they release this in November it may come out on a system with more than 10 million users though.

It's currently less than 10M, but it's not like it's releasing right now or something. With the current popularity of the Switch, it's not impossible that before a Switch version of Pokemon comes out, there's already a huge chunk of Switch owners worldwide.

Besides, Pokemon series is a hardware driver and an evergreen title.

Switch can handle a game like MK8 from 720p to 1080p so I imagine you can do a split screen mode. Though I wonder why they didn't just do it like the other anime fighters like naruto where it's the same screen for both even if it's better for one.
The game was sub 720p so i wonder if a Switch port would reach a full 1080p.
A pokken port *seems* like something they'd want to do, but probably not at this direct

Do we know what Game Boy Color sales when crystal version came out?

The latter.

Fair enough. I feel like Nintendo have been making an effort to get some version of their big franchises onto Switch early though in general. It does seem like a change in strategy from how they handed the 3DS and Wii U so I think Stars on Switch fits. I guess we'll find out soon enough

Too many substantiated rumours for a core Switch game for it to not to be real IMO.

Pokken is still a thing? Wouldn't be surprised if we never hear about that "franchise" again.

That would be the ultimate betrayal after not getting a Wii U Pokemon snap :(

Still would be great though. I thought we were pretty sure about Stars Switch? Is there some information against it or people just don't believe(tm)?

I never bought the Wii U so they wouldn't be betraying me (lol).

I'm just shooting the shit, we got 10 hours to go, just having a little fun.

I hope to fucking hell it is Stars Switch and nothing else (well, a few more Pokemon related announcements would be cool as long as Star Switch is announced).

I feel like Stars, assuming it's just an enhanced port of S/M, would be the least interesting game they could announce. Assuming they are going with a mainline game and not a spinoff, I would rank prospective announcements in order of excitement:

1.) Gen 8 (obviously not gonna happen)

2.) A new game in an old region (S/M 2, B/W 3, etc. I would be interested in a sequel to G/S: a new game in Kanto/Johto)

3.) Another R/B/Y remake

4.) Sinnoh remakes (probably missing improvements from Platinum, lol)

5.) Stars, I guess
I'll probably still buy it

It's been getting new characters in the arcade version and iirc this was a game the Pokémon Company wanted especially for their Pokémon tournaments.
