Pokemon Ultra stars Q1 2018

Where else will they release the next pokemon game.

Nintendo has newer system than the Switch, and it's called New 2DS XL.
I can only blame myself for even getting hyped for slight chance of mainline Pokemon on proper console, even commented that we'll get Pokken only before and here we are.

I don't get it? Everything that was announced was to be expected. Black/white 2 were completely different games to the first. So why is everybody thinking this will be a port? Also nintendo said they would continue to support the 3ds which looks like is happening.

What's wrong guys? I thought Stars was surely going to be on the Switch.

The only thing I was hoping on from this Direct was Gen2 on Virtual Console and I'm getting it, so I'm happy. Can't wait to play again, HGSS just isn't the same.

Yeah they're definitely not going to waste time talking about this in the digital presentation.

I have a strong feeling we're seeing Smash Bros DX next Tuesday though! Hell yeah!

And how much better is Crystal than G/S? If they let me transfer my Yellow Pokemon to G/S through Pokebank, I'm definitely going to buy G/S on 3DS.

The set up was perfect. The whole Switch montage and talking about how awesome it is, and a POKEMON GAME IS COMING FOR IT only to lead into Pokken.

Master level Trolling. Play on everyone's expectations right off the bat just to shatter them.

So Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun aren't sequels but just versions with an alternate story? That's disappointing. If it had been Sun/Moon 2 I would have picked it up even if it was only on 3DS. But I'll skip it if it's more or less the same game.

That went pretty much exactly as expected, and all of you were warned by precedent well in advance.

Switch will get its turn in Gen8 if there is no non-Switch successor portable in sight.

You think I can get more for my 2ds since I can send it with a full pokedex in the pokebank and a digital copy of moon? Not paying 40$ for a shitty upgrade or 10$ for a 20 year old rom on a bad handheld.

If the good indie shit doesn't come soon I might as well sell my switch as well since puyo puyo tetris is the only game I've enjoyed on it.]

what would that do in your favor?

because theyre both fighting games? im not sure what the issue is here

If they are going to half ass Pokemon I'd rather it fail and die then be stupid and waste my money on nostalgia pieces of trash every few years.

"That's it for today"?

I tend not to swear but this is fucking unacceptable.

Nintendo is letting all the momentum of the Switch just die instantly while The Pokemon Company laughs in their face.

Their last chance was Pokemon Stars and they blew it. Game over.

The announcement is kind of a bummer but let's not get too hasty here.

It's weird that they showed the new games so fast and "oh yeah, heres a game bye".

Maybe they don't "want" to focus too much on this 3DS version? (?)

I just walked to the window and stared out at the rain for a good 5 minutes thinking about how goddamn dreadful this Direct was.

What is this life?

What the hell is Nintendo doing anymore?

lmao. I am not sure if you're joking. The Switch population is small compared to the 3ds/2ds, it makes better business sense to continue making games for the 3ds/2ds. I don't expect a Pokemon for Switch until late 2018 - or even more likely 2019.

I didn't like the direct, but I'm not going to have a meltdown over it. There are still a ton of things to look forward to on the Switch (this year alone).

Hah i legitimately laughed on the bus once hey zoomed in on the kid's 3ds. I was expecting pokken but im actually a bit surprised that it was basically the whole presentation was for it. Not interested in any of their output for this year pretty much. maybe next year, gamefreak.

For the record, i never thought that the 3rd game would be on the switch

I can't stop grinning. So many of you were so definite less than 24 hours ago that a Switch release was a definite sure thing. The hubris is thick in these parts.

So this gonna be the moment you all stop listening to twitter "leakers" right

To be fair, this wasn't the fault of anyone sketchy on Twitter. Stars was backed by Eurogamer for months, and I think that most people consider them to be a rather trustworthy source. No longer after today, that's for sure.

Even considering the fact Japan has huge Switch stock issues, and 3DS is massive, I'm still incredibly disappointed by a lack of anything notable for Switch. A Pokken Port is not acceptable. 5 new characters? $20 says they'll slap the usual $60 price tag on it, too. Ultra Sun and Moon had an absolutely horrible reveal, tagging along the backside of the Pokken reveal. Had no idea those kids were playing a new version of Pokemon. I don't have any interest in 3DS titles personally, so I didn't play them then, I won't play them now.

Imagine the Switch stock situation if we had a mainline pokemon coming this year to the Switch. I do think it's still going to happen down the line, but maybe for a less packed year.

I wouldn't even care if it wasn't for Eurogamer being reliable with most of their other Switch stories and then coming out and saying Switch is getting a Pokemon. I don't expect it but I'd like to hear what they have to say it about it being Pokken on Switch and not stars.

I'm getting Black 2/White 2/3DS vibes

And if you seriously believe this is a permanent move by Game Freak to avoid Switch development, well that's just paranoid/wishful thinking

Edit: how many more people are going to to equate Nintendo with The Pokemon Company. TPC does what it wants.

Don't state the obvious. Thats just wrong.
