As far as Wonder Red in Smash...I just don't think it will happen. Not that I don't want it to, but it probably won't right now. It's a new franchise and pretty much holds no weight at all in the Smash realm. I feel like it would just happen to promote the game and not because this is a guest character with some sort of legacy. It doesn't fit with the idea and theme of the project. Just trying to think about it from what Nintendo has said about Smash and from what we have seen.

This game would have to really establish itself on it's own beforehand, right?

So, this is a Platinum announcement rather than a Nintendo announcement... Seeing Bayonetta on the TW101 Direct would feel off, but anything is possible now.

Seriously, if a sequel to a game that never released on a Nintendo platform is coming exclusively to a Nintendo platform... wouldn't you want to make that game available to that platform, to properly hype people up for the sequel?

I hope it's Bayo 1. Mostly because it would hopefully have framerate parity to the 360 version so I don't have to go through the iffy PS3 version.

This basically eliminates Smash. I'm not sure if this increases or decreases the announcement of a Bayonetta 1 port. Wouldn't Nintendo want to announce the game on their Direct? If the announcement of this surprise was put in the W101 blog, and is timed after the Direct, it has to be Wii U related so I guess Nintendo doesn't mind.

Bayonetta 1 port makes more sense than Bayonetta 2 did to begin with. Cheap, easy, lineup filler and introduces Nintendo fans to Bayonetta.

Nintendo doesn't need to be involved, Sega would probably handle publishing duties of a digital Bayo 1 port. It's their game.

If Nintendo is funding the sequel, it'd be in their best interests to help promote a port of the first game or whatever.

If this isn't a comparatively minor W101 announcement, then the only option I can see it being is either a multiplatform thing that another publisher wants to promote and handle, or it's just flat-out not Nintendo-related at all. Maybe PS4 + XONE? Maybe current gen? Hell, maybe a goddamn tablet game. I dunno.

All I can say is that this either doesn't interest or involve Nintendo very much so they don't see the point in mentioning it, or it just isn't their place to mention it.
