you have no one to blame for your disappointment but yourselves.

Pokemon NEVER releases on Nintendo new consoles in the first year..EVER. There is no precedent for it, why would they start now? They tend to release some spin off first to get used to the console and then start the new gen..

This board also needs to stop taking rumors as gospel. Too often they get blown the fuck out by rumors not being true and then getting mad at companies for it.

The Switch will be fine. It has Mario as the big game this holiday plus hopefully other shit. It didn't need Pokemon in its first year to build momentum. Like it or not the 3DS still exists and has an audience. Its funny too that people often shit on Nintendo for abandoning their systems too early and the one time they finally don't they lose their shit. Just because your old systems suddenly stop existing to you once new hardware hits does not mean that is the case for everyone.

Its also funny to see people so butthurt and going "oh boy I can't wait to play the same shitty game again" in a thread in which they were hoping for a port of said shitty game....lol.

Can't wait for e3 where even more bloated expectations are ruined.

It's one thing to announce two half assed sequels less than a year after the original exclusively for the 3DS, but to start the direct by presenting the Switch and saying "and now we will announce our first Pokemon game for the Switch" is just evil.

It's like they went out of their way to bum me out lol

I honestly don't get how people expected a Pokemon for Switch so early, which is why the meltdown reactions are so hilarious.

It's worse than the worst case scenario because it's not even a sequel, it's an alternate story...

I just wish at the very least the VC titles were also on Switch, but Nintendo hasn't announced the VC for Switch yet.

The Switch can do more for sure, but the resolution in that footage is way higher than the 3DS' 240p.

I looks like an uprezzed 3DS game, which is what I expect from TPC for the Switch.

It looked exactly like Sun/Moon. Whether Ultra comes to the Switch or not, what we saw today was 3ds footage.

I agree. A dual Switch version would've been nice, or possibly will be nice if it's announced later down the line, but I honestly can't see why people are so angry that it's not coming to Switch. Well I can, raised expectations due to a rumour that looks increasingly dubious as time passes, but in isolation, Game Freak has no obligation to release Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon on the Switch. The 3DS isn't dead yet, it's a thriving platform, and the Switch has only just been released. You wouldn't want to split a Gen and its player-base across the console generations, and I imagine that a dual release would be difficult across the 3DS and Switch compared to, say, Game Boy and Game Boy Colour. All in all, it would've been neat, but it really doesn't warrant the amount of anger I've been reading.

...anyway; this went pretty much as I suspected.

I love Pokken, so DX is great news to me! Wish we got Mimikyu instead of Decidueye, but oh well.

I figured Stars was bunk from the start, but whatever. I won't be buying Ultra Moon unless there are significant content additions. I'm talking at least 10-20 entirely new Pokémon, not counting new forms.

Kinda meh on GS VC, but only because I've pretty much went pure Switch lately...
