God damn, the amount of salt in this thread is astronomical...
You can make a religion out of this!

Honestly though, we probably should have expected them to be 3ds games, as with gen 5 before it. I just hope these games are slightly more than remixes, I would love more black/white 2 styled love.

What would they do with a Pokemon this year, they can't even get enough stock BEFORE Splatoon 2 and MH XX.

So if they need stock for Mario Odyssey and Pokemon Stars (to mention only these 2)...

Gamefreak can keep the Pokemon games then because I ain't buying a mediocre fighting game just to get games I actually want.

Very interesting. I guess Eurogamer was mistaken on Stars after all! Definitely didn't expect that.

This makes Nintendo's fall lineup look thinner than what we expected through leaks though. Pokken, FE Warriors, Mario, and Xenoblade 2 (if it isn't delayed) seem to be the highlights. I wonder how many surprises Nintendo actually has for the rest of the year after this; I'm tempering my expectations now.

Y'all acting like the Switch needs another big game for it's first year

It makes way more sense for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon to be on 3DS. Game Freak can wrap up Gen VII on 3DS so have it all on one console and get the last out of the 3DS install base, while Nintendo makes sure that the Switch continues a decent line up (or at least a singular system seller) into it's second/third year. It makes sense.

Lump me in the disappointed crowd. Tried to put a lot of time into the first Sun/moon titles but the 3DS form factor severely hurts my thumbs. I even tried the different versions looking for a more comfortable machine and unfortunately it hasn't worked. Switch on the other hand has yet to cramp my thumbs, the raised joystick with no need to apply downward pressure is much more comfortable.

Fighting games, definitely not my genre of games. Oh well I guess we will see in a year or two.

They can't keep doing this to us. We are Pokemon fans before all else!

Is there a petition to sign somewhere to make them shift all resources from Pokken to Stars?

Probably why you think Pokken is "good enough". If that game didn't have the Pokemon IP to fall back on it probably wouldn't even have sold 100k. Janky POS fighting game.

Nothing Pokemon related will be announced at e3 at least not for the Switch, so don't get your hopes up.

Nintendo is still a bit troubled with Nintendo as a company and isn't too sure if the Switch will be a success, that's why Nintendo will take a step back and will first try the new waters with Pokken, before eventually, maybe, making the jump to the Switch. For the time being the 3DS seems to be the platform of choice for Nintendo, so we just have to wait, until Nintendo finally gets their act together, so that Nintendo has more trust into Nintendos new Hybrid console, to release something major like a main Pokemon game for the Switch :)

No one is really talking about the tournament at E3... (there isn't much to talk about I guess)

BUT, what was the consensus on the competitive viability of Pokken?

It would be cool to have that added to the arsenal.

Well guess it is about right. Emerald came out after the DS release, B&W2 came out after 3DS release (like a freaking year and a half actually lol), now this, through least you could play those on the newer systems at the time.

I'm not even mad at USUM being 3DS only. I'm mad we only saw 20 seconds of boring footage.

I literally have no fucking clue what the game is. Is it a third version like update or B2W2 style sequel. If it's just a third version like update then why would you make four versions of the same game.

I think the correct phrasing would be they stick with an older system until the newer one has a decent install base. By the way you worded it, TPC would have stuck with the DS.

Just to be clear: you guys do realize that the Japanese name of these games is Pokemon Star: Ultra Sun /Ultra Moon? Because I'm seeing lots of "they might still announce Pokemon Stars at a later date" -posts.

edit: sorry, just fucking with you guys, it's too good, lol

Nintendo hasn't release a "third" game in a long time (last was Platinum?). I don't think they will ever do it again. They rather make brand new game like Black/White 2 and now Ultra Sun/Moon.

I mean up to you I guess. It looks like a better version of the unexpectedly good pokemon fighting game we got on a system nobody cared for.

I like some of the spinoffs more than the samey main games over and over :)

I'm really curious about that! Wario64 just noted on Twitter that the site for the games is up now, but doesn't offer any additional details either. What's in the game?!

My salt level is ULTRA strong.

I would have been just fine with Pokken Tournament DX if Stars was announced too but NOPE.

Gold and Silver but no Crystal? UGH

Ultra Sun and Moon on 3DS but not Switch and less than a year after the originals? WOW
