Quantum Break coming to PC and Xbox simultaneously on April 5th (?)

If this is true then at this point owning an Xbone is almost not worth it. I however would love a PC release since my Xbone power brick is noisy and I won't be bothered to replace it.

I'm keeping my Xbox one for now for the Forza 6 Porsche dlc and to see what's happening with the next Forza horizon. But if there isn't another Forza horizon this year or it doesn't look much different from last years one then I think it's time to make some space under my tv.

Announce Scalebound for PC and I'm selling my XBO asap.

Also: We care way more about the next Xbox than Microsoft does.

I am just mad that Halo MCC and 5 sucked so much ass that I literally start to hate Halo. That Tomb Raider was an exclusive game which didn't help them at all and that now they just port everything to PC. Sunset Overdrive when?

Sunset will likely never come to PC, something about a forum post on Insomniac's site and people going on the record that the game won't come to PC.

also Halo 5 is, good

Imagine if Sony and Nintendo released all their games on pc why would anyone need a Console if u can play all games on pc without buying more than one console?

This just proves Xbox is on the way out, Microsoft knows they have no chance in the console business if they were winning like with 360 this wouldn't be happening I'm pretty sure of that.

It's Windows Phone all over again.

everything runs on windows

I am not sure what that means regarding what Durante posted, but I believe he is referencing that the last MS curated store front and connection platform tried to do a lot of harmful things (gold on PC), was generally problematic (lost saves, multiple restarts, connectivity issues), and then was eventually dumped and thus abandoning any responsibility for the content they sold through it and which was enabled by it.

The MS track record regarding all things PC gaming has always been a minefield that has the warning signs taken down every few months with claims of "these mines are not as they seem!" and "we swear we are not laying more mines!" only for the mines to still be there and for people to get their hopes up, walk onto the mine field and die.

I really don't see how anyone would trust a Microsoft service with their PC library after GFWL.

I rather use GFWL on my pc instead of using an Xbox at all.
Do I trudt them? Absolutely not.
But If there is no other way to get it on pc I personally still would get it (Killer Instinct).
The worst thing about GFWL was the first time setup and update system.
Other than that it wasn't that annoying.

I believe in giving people a second chance.

What. You can get Windows 10 for less than 10$ if you are no moron.

Casuals, general consumers. People who buy games at full price. People who don't give a shit if games are being sold on steam or any other stores. They afe the real consumers.

I think it's safe to assume that some Xbox exclusives will be announced for PC at the upcoming event. Remedy has a history of developing on the PC, so it wouldn't be surprising to see QB ported over.

Don't see this as a negative. More people get to purchase the title, MS supports both of their platforms, and the amount of people who would drop the Xbox over this is relatively small.

Thank you microsoft for the on going support of win10 - so that I will never have to buy an xbone :D
Will wait for reviews though.

Maybe if you don't have a PC.
Console exclusive is fine and dandy, but it's far weaker than a full exclusive.
Far weaker s stretching I think. The majority of market for a console will not have or be interested in a gaming PC I'm sure. Their choice will be console vs console.

Sure this will lose them a few sales in a minority demographic. I have a PC and yet again this reduces odds I'll get an Xbox, but I doubt people like me even represent enough to matter.

TBH n current trends (not just gaming but tech market as a whole) I'd argue PC is more important to MS right now than Xbox console so it wouldn't surprise me to see a shift.

Out of the last four console gens MS have won zero. Their best result was strong market share last gen and excellent market share in US and UK.

This gen their console presence is on target to shrink worldwide (despite technically trending ahead right now) and with how market has played out their hopes for console's role in home ecosystem has evapourted.

Currently Xbox seems to offer no more than decent market in US and UK (and Mexico!) as a MS hardware choice for their platform, a market that is peanuts next to current PC market globally for Windows Store.

Putting core games day/date on PC should be a priority for them. Downsides for console are negligible d argue and main result will be a vocal minority on Internet squealing about how they're betraying Xbox. Hardly enough reason not to improve on PC.

It's Windows Phone all over again.

When was 360 winning? It's in third place in lifetime sales behind Wii and PS3. It's not about winning, you can have a high profit niche and you can barely make a dime despite selling dozens of millions.

Microsoft ist about selling Windows licenses and selling Office. They don't care if you buy an Xbox One (and they sell a Win 10 license) or if you buy a PC (and they sell a Win 10 license). They don't care if you buy on Steam (on a PC using a Win 10 license). Xbox is just their selling point for that license, like Office is the selling point for that license for businesses. At one point they will require everyone to pay $10 a month for the package (Windows, Office, OneDrive) and make 5 billion a month.

Maybe it is just different here in Germany, but people will play their games on PC if they can. PC gaming is easier than ever.

.

this.

i was looking forward to QB and Alan Wake 2. These were the games i would consider buying an xbox one but now it looks like i will get QB for my PC and Alan Wake 2 will be the same i guess. So PC + Ps4 for me.

And right about the time i'm upgrading my PC, no less.

Not sure if i'll even play it because most of the footage didn't look like my cup of tea, but the option is nice.

I don't doubt Quantum Break will pop up on PC at some point, but I do kinda doubt that it'll be a simultaneous release, as pretty much everything else has been at least timed exclusive, I really don't see why MS wouldn't do the same with Quantum Break. It'd be a pleasant surprise if it is a simultaneous release though.

thats pretty much where i am at. Dont need a xbo half as much as i did. I have a shelf with both a xbo and a wiiu and im really thinking of clearing it.

neurosyphilis

Definitely not an STD, as I'm a pure.
I should build a PC someday with all these Xbox One games being on there. I'd only be missing out on Halo, Forza, and Gears it seems like.

I've got both Xbox One and a gaming PC, if that's true then i'm happy cause i'll play it maxed out on PC and i'll finally put that GTX980 to use again. Though it seems weird, i'm sure this game would arrive on PC, but i thought at least a few months after the Xbox One release for either push Xbox one sales and actually develope and optimize the game for PC since Remedy is a small team which takes plenty of time to do games.
If it's true though keep saying Microsoft doesn't care about gaming on Windows, after the Xbox app, DirectX12, Tomb Raider and perhaps Quantum Break

That is...what Office 365 is for right now and it will surely expand. Right now it's about 20 Euros per month for the whole Office package and skype etc.

At this point Xbox looks to be an entry level PC with TV integration and no cheating in multiplayer. They should just do it all the way and allow any Windows app and game to be started on Xbox. In a way they are already doing what Steam OS always said they would do.

Well, they will hopefully open the gates on UWPs with Redstone, or earlier.

Xbox One is doing better than 360, so I don't know what you talking about, but the current strategy makes total sense.

In fact was a big mistake MS focusing too much on X360 after the Games for Windows Live fiasco, they shouldn't have waited so long to try again.

In't One still selling better than 360 at the same point in its lifecycle? My guess is they just take a good look at their games, see what's going to do great and what is not and decide then what they release on PC as well. Seeing how Alan Wake bombed hard it was not far fetched to expect the same to happen to Quantum Break. It's better to have one marketing campaign for two platforms than to do a so so launch on Xbox One followed by a so so launch on PC. I look forward to this game but I never expected it to sell more than 1 million copies worldwide.

Even if Xbone is doing better than 360 (not for long, I believe), do you really think that higher MS execs or even Phil are pleased with Xbone results? They are still behind the Wii U in many countries around the world, and they lost the 2 places (US/UK) where 360 completely annihilated its direct competitor last gen, so I think nobody at MS is thinking that Xbone is doing just fine, no.
I firmly believe that from now on we won't see any more Xbone MS exclusives outside of Forza, Halo and Gears, and this change wouldn't have happened, had the console met their sales targets.

Just for the record what major exclusives for the xbo dont have a pc verison now? Is it just halo and forza? Only ones i can think of are dead rising and sunset o

If Spencer wants to kill the x1 he is succeeding.

Increasing software sales = killing Xbox?

Look around, even Sony are putting some of their games on PC, clearly neither ms or sont consider PC gaming to be a threat to their console business.

Xbox survived when halo 1/2, fable, gears 1 etc went to PC, it'll survive now too.

If this helps sell copies of qb to make ms/remedy more money and to help ensure we get a sequel, I don't see how that's a bad thing

Sony first party and second party are only ps4 not pc ;)I bought the x1 for exclusive and instead I find myself a useless console.
