Definitely will buy Ultra Moon and maybe Ultra Sun if there is a steelbook combo pack again. Yeah it's not for Switch but oh well. I need more Pokémon!

Basically it's Black 2 and White 2 all over again.

Absolutely will buy Pokémon Gold! I've been waiting for that for such a long time! Need my Gen 2 fix again! Probably the best part of the Direct for me!

Crystal stays losing.

Don't really have much of an interest in Pokken DX. Depends on the price.

I wonder what Eurogamer will say.

What is their logic behind making this announcement a separate direct from the E3 stuff that's right around the corner?

Imagine the Switch stock situation if we had a mainline pokemon coming this year to the Switch. I do think it's still going to happen down the line, but maybe for a less packed year.

Yup. Gaf isn't thinking

Plus the Switch population is not nearly as high as the 3ds/2ds. it makes more sense to put it on a system that will bring in the biggest profit.

Switch Pokemon game late 2018/or 2019. The fact that nothing new ( but ports/remakes) was shown leads me to believe it's deep in development.

Ugh, disappointing.

I am genuinely excited for Pokken DX but pretty salty about ultra sun and ultra moon. I haven't touched my 3DS since I got my Switch.

Hell, I would've loved gold and silver for Switch virtual console

"Nintendo is going to lose all momentum by not releasing Black and White 2 on the 3ds. They're doomed!"

Yeah, it sucks that we have to wait for a Switch Pokemon, but we probably only have to wait for another year and half (or close to it). It makes more sense to have their first Switch Pokemon be a brand new gen anyway.

Black and White 2 were at least playable on 3DS though. Ultra Sun/Moon will not play on Switch.

I'm still hopeful that Eurogamer wasn't wrong.

Likely to get ahead of the rumors Stars was a Switch game and get the "No Switch version!" negativity over with before E3 would be my guess.

This part seems weird, considering how good it looks. May just be a little cinematic for the trailer.

This must be the Switch version that they'll reveal next week, I want to believe!

I'm personally not convinced we won't see a version of ultra on switch at some point, but it may not be simultaneous.

Honestly, I really ended up feeling like S/M was something of a flawed experience and a step backward compared to the previous gen. Maybe this will be their chance to make a more even experience. Still, outside of really dumb looking armor for the legends, the actual changes are somewhat unclear.

Not sure how I feel about G/S on VC. I played the previous VC release, so maybe I'll play this one too. I'm especially likely if they give a reasonable opportunity for me to SR for a shiny celebi that I can transfer to the new games. I'm pretty sure you could get a shiny celebi from the original, so it just depends on if they have a way of enabling the event.

Very strange if a Sun/Moon iteration doesn't come to Switch considering how much of the dual screen stuff was gimped. If those features were cut for nothing that is even worse.

Surely E3 will deliver.
lol

I predicted this Direct would be all about a Magikarp update. I probably would have preferred that. Very let down about gamefreak not thinking about the future and only looking for a cash grab.

Yes. This 8 minute long presentation once and for all proved that there will NEVER be a mainline Pokémon game on Nintendo's newest system. Because that makes sense.

I said yet, you're the only one who said never.

This is not E3 lmao.

Even if it wasn't E3, whats the point of pushing a Pokemon exclusive Direct prior to E3 when you're going to disappoint people looking for Switch versions if you're just going to tell them "btw it's for the Switch as well" a week later.

To those trying to rub it in that this was expected, you can expect something shitty to be happen and then be upset when the moment comes.

That's a fair point. Now peoples expectations will be in check for E3 itself, which they obviously don't want an overly negative reaction to. Better to get it out of the way now.

I've never been too big of a fan of second version Pokémon games personally so I'm not too miffed by the lack of a Switch version but it does feel like a hugely wasted opportunity. Guess Nintendo knows they're probably gonna push at least 2 million each of this.

I was honestly more excited about the potential of Switch Pokkén lol.

The Pokémon Company always marches by the beat of their own drum.

Whoa, I thought the Direct was really good.

How can you complain about a new game announcement for Switch? It's getting another definitive version of a good game, and it will be brand new for a lot of people.

Gold and Silver on Virtual Console is amazing news! The best generation finally gets on the eShop, and it will probably allow for Pokemon Bank transfers just like Gen 1.

Now, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were the least exciting announcements. Gen 7 is wonderful, but I've had my fill from Sun. I know that many diehard fans will double dip, though. These versions are definitely not a day one for me, but I'll consider down the line.

I went in with no expectations, really. I was pleasantly surprised by it.

They almost skipped over the ultraversions reveal, like "oh yeah, here's a game bye". Something's up. They don't seem to want to promote that heavily the 3DS version.

And the most important thing. On SunMoon announcemend it said "Exclusively on 3DS systems.". Now they just said "On 3DS family of systems". Thei didn't say exclusive.

Spukc

always chasing the next thrill
show soem balls and let sun moon owners get the ultra part in dlc
like a 20 dollar expansion

Like two years ago I thought Pokken might be cool.

Now we have the Switch which is a really good handheld. We could have finally played the real Pokémon on a decent piece of hardware.

Not going to lie, I hope the new 3DS games sell poorly. Only way to remind Nintendo that they have a new system that needs a real Pokémon game.

They're probably just trying to milk the 3DS crowd one last time and are confident that the Switch can get by this holiday season with the already-announced games in other franchises. I bet we'll see a mainline Pokémkn game on Switch in one to two years when Nintendo needs a new game for the Switch.

Why the let down? Pokken is good enough! Honestly I never played the game, so I'm quite excited and we still have E3, so if these little directs help to get the games somes spotlight; Im fine with it.

So no we have for switch, (as far as 1st party support)

Zelda (adventure)
MK8DX (racing)
ARMS (Fighting)
Pokken (Fighting)
XC2? (RPG)
Mario Odyssey. (Platforming)

A pretty good first year for Switch Owner (at least for those who didn't own a Wii U).

So why the hate? Switch Owners we have a pretty good first year!

Should've been on Switch - that's why it's shit.
