So my Elephant 2's came in. So awesome, yet so so uncomfortable. I'm going to stretch them out at home for a few days before I'm brave enough to wear them out.

Have you developed any blisters as a result of wear or does it just cut the skin?

What do you do about smell? Sometimes if I wear my jeans out to some bars or if it gets hot they usually tend to smell after a few wears. I finally just had to wash them last weekend, but I was wondering what everyone does for long term?

Wear isn't bad so far, they are definitely stretching. I could only do the main button, and one of the smaller ones. It was too painful, so I gave up.

anyone have any experience with Levi's Matchstick Earls?

they read like a hybrid between 511-514s. Might bite on a good deal but want some insight first

This thread inspired me to buy my first "real" pair of jeans! So thanks to the OP. I bought, these Nudie Hank Rey dry denim ones in London (£100). They look awesome - it's more than I normally spend on jeans so I hope they last!

Got my appendix taken out last week. Unfortunately, my mom took home my clothes and washed them. 4 months of wear on my Naked and Famous slim guys down the drain :(

At least I'm still alive.

Man I knew this stuff stretched but damn. Dropped my New Cures off at a tailor yesterday because they've stretched to the point of falling off me. I love them but will definitely get the next pair super tight to compensate.

I'm confused. Did you not size down?

this is a general jeans question, when I go on a website and they list the sizes, I assume it's the waste size, but they don't mention the length size? what's the length for these jeans?

Well, to be fair, I can't even fit my phone in my front pocket so you have me there.

What website? I mean, usually 32x34 means 32 waist, 34 inseam (length).

diesel jeans for example, I can't figure out the length for any of the jeans on that site

is there anything close to 36L?

first off, i really wouldn't recommend diesel jeans at all. my flat heads were 36 L, btw - lots of japanese brands have very long lengths and when you buy them, the store will hem them to your desired length.

what's up bro how you been

when i first started rocking raw denim, i put my phone in my back pocket for this very reason. but it's tough these days - what with phones having touch screens being much more delicate. all you can really do is switch up which pocket gets the phone. that way you'll at least have symmetrical fades that take longer to show up.

Most raw/dry denim comes in a single inseam length between 34 and 37 inches. Just look for a sizing guide on the website. But get off diesel.com or whatever.

Heh, yeah. It's tricky.

could you recommend some jeans designers I should look at? I'm having a lot of trouble finding jeans with a 36L that isn't banana republic/gap/old navy

Like jon bones said, if you're spending that kind of cash we can point you in better directions. However, after looking at their site they have it so you cna choose your length.

I finally washed my Context exclusive Average Joe's the other day. I got them for Christmas last year and wore them every day. I can put some pics up later. They turned out nice but look really similar to my Ralfs.

Anyone have any experience with the gap selvage? What is the stretch like? I have a 40% off and figured they'll be worth the $50 or so.

They're great. The do stretch about 1 - 1.5 sizes in my expereince.

They don't really fade though. I've had mine for about 22 months (with about a year of wear), and there's pretty much nothing. Then again I've only washed them once (only because a chick threw up on them). I paid $90 and they were worth it (I got the skinny cut)

nothing more then $200 (don't mind going a little over if need be), a straight fit not skinny, also 34W 36L

Look at Naked and Famous, APC or Nudie in that range. For a bit less you can go with something like the Unbranded jeans.

It's funny, I've got new pairs of APCs and Edwins but ever since dropping a good amount of weight, I've finally decided to start wearing them.

Alas, they are long as hell right now so they're currently cuffed (about four inches right now) so I'm debating on whether to shrink them or just have them hemmed.

Has anyone seen or tried out the 3sixteen+? I'm heading over to LA for a little vacation on Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to hit up the Self Edge store. I was hoping to pick up a new pair of jeans while I'm there as well and was considering those.

I just received my 3sixteens in the mail and I like them. I need to get used to the fit a little coming off of APC NS which, after only about 5 months, stretched considerably. Denim quality is really nice on these 3sixteens. I'm hoping these stretch to the size my 501 STFs did.

So jean experts what do you guys think about Buffalo David Bitton jeans? I like his style but would like to hear some opinions.

I've also been shopping at www.buckle.com.

Well, thanks for this. I looked at the site and saw a few things I liked. Then found out that there's a store located not more than 10 miles from my house. I ended up picking up 2 pairs of Buffalos and a pair of BKEs. Liked the fit and wash and the prices are reasonable. I don't have super high standards, so I couldn't give any kind of review other than I got some compliments on them and they fit me well.

I only have experience with the standard 3sixteen, but they are much better than APC and easy to size. I'm told the +'s act much like the standard line; they don't stretch too much nor shrink. Just get what is comfortable and you should be good.

Thanks. I'll have to order a pair. You should try Lucky Brand jeans I totally love them.

Hahaha I have a pair of Lucky's from like 10 years ago. I know the brand is frowned upon here. I do have some pairs of AG jeans. No idea what the GAF consensus on those are. I like them. Softest jeans ever, but I wanted to try something new. That and because of my semi-recent P90X obsession, I've dropped a size and it's time to say goodbye to the loose fit look.

Yo dudes, had my APC New Standards for a year now. Time to wash these suckers! What's going to give me the best results, I don't want them to change at all.

I just use Levi's. But I noticed a couple of years ago they changed their fabric. Now it's a little bit "softer" or wimpier. I don't like it. Maybe it's just me but the older pants I have are tougher. Anyone else noticed that?

I've bought flannel lined Carharts and the are awesome for cold weather. I'll buy there regular carharts to replace my levi's.

I'm sure it's been said before but why would you spend $300 on a pair of pants? Crazy!

Edit: I've been reading amazon reviews and there are a lot of people complaining about the levis fabric too. I don't know when the change happened but the new pants are definitely thinner and quality is not as good.

What do you mean you don't want them to change? Do you not want them to fade or do you not want them to shrink?

Not wanting to Shrink or fade. But I mean, whatever is best for em is what I'll do. The info packet said soak in woollite in the tub, should I do this or something else?

Yeah, Woolite Dark in the tub is best.

I'm not sure why you don't want them to fade, though. That's the best part.
