Truly a heart wrenching tale of forbidden love, persecution, and coming to terms with one's own feelings. Keita Suminoe must live his life with his sisters constantly hungering for his affection and love, fighting his own feelings he must maintain his position as their sibling but when he lets things slip things get a little steamy.

Keita joins their school to fulfill a promise he has made with his siblings, Ako and Rio who being upstanding people within their school community's staff show no shame showing their brother affection. Keita worrying about their reputation and standing in society tries to put an end to it, but that only makes their advances more fierce as they proceed to seduce him and take him in on school grounds. The outcry from the students, staff, and general populous force them into shame.

Honestly it is one of the greatest shows I have ever seen. Drama, suspense, and incests standing in the eyes of the world. I urge you all to give this a shot and get a chance to see one of the most provocative works of 2010.

Kamijou Touma, a young school boy with unusually bad luck finds himself stuck in the middle corruption of church and goverment after finding a strange girl by the name of Index, a young nun from Necessarius a branch of the Church of England.

Her mind has been implanted with the 103,000 magical texts of the Index-Librorum-Prohibitorum as she possesses Photographic memory, which makes magicians wonder if she really is human because just one grimoire is poisonous to the mind, and one is more than enough to kill a person without the proper preparative. Having once been held captive she has escaped trying to protect the knowledge she holds, but that is where Kamijo's involvement sends him into battle. Using the power of his bad luck "Imagine Breaker" he fights off these foes to protect his new found companion.

Full of action, suspense, and mystery Index is by far the greatest action anime of 2010. It will keep you on the edge of your seat with it's excellent action sequences and tear at your heart in it's somber moments.

A mysterious extraterrestrial girl named Lala runs away to Earth in order to avoid daily arranged marriage candidate interviews set up by her father, the king of her home planet Deviluke. Due to one of her own inventions, she teleports into the protagonist Rito Yuki's home.

In a misunderstanding Lala seems to think Rito has made marriage proposal, and Lala happily accepts to become Rito's future bride. Rito, on the other hand, harbors feelings for a girl in his class named Haruna Sairenji, and does not want anything to do with her. Despite his refusal, Rito is the canidate for the throne of Deviluke and as such is challenged by Lala's many suitors. Taking them out one after another Rito starts developing feelings for Lala, but what of his feelings for Haruna?

A nice action packed love comedy to sit down and enjoy. You'll take in it's excellent comedy, silly enemies, and romance with mirth and satisfaction.

Two years ago, Junichi Tachibana got his heart broken by a girl who stood him up on a date on Christmas Eve. Now a second-year student in high school, Junichi is wary of love because of his past and dislikes celebrating Christmas. However this Christmas, his encounter with one of six girls from his school will finally open his heart again.

The story is broken into arcs of alternate timeline with Junichi's prospective mates to accommodate the original stories for the girls in it's respective game. You'll first experience his encounter with Haruka Morishima a very popular girl in her final year, who has many fans at school. She can be described as a fickle and insecure girl with a liking for cute things, especially puppies. It'll take you through their budding romance till it blooms into love as they see each other day to day.

The stories are nice an heartwarming, funny, and endearing with each girls own unique story of how they encounter and fall in love with Junichi. Nice to watch when you just want to relax and enjoy a love story.

Kanna Aoyagi, a 16 year-old girl who was asked to become an voice actress on her 16th birthday by her 28 year-old sister. She disagreed at first, but after she thought about all of the things her sister did for her when she was growing up, she finally agreed. But being a high school student and knowing nothing about voicing games, can she do the job properly?

This will take you through Kanna's adapting to doing voice work, being walked into it she will learn from her seniors and see the fruits of their work in their final product. Kanna looks up to Fumika Warasono as a voice acting role model, and she seems to be the only one who sympathizes with Kanna's embarrassment as a voice actress. Although she is a professional as a voice actress, Fumika has no experience expressing herself to such lengths in real life.

Very interesting look into video game voice acting and the trials one must go through to get that perfect take. It can be funny with Kanna's fumbling and poking fun from her fellow staff members and is overall enjoyable. High marks all around!

Let's see:

01 - Princess Jellyfish
02 - Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku (The Legend of Koizumi)
03 - Giant Killing
04 - Baka and Test
05 - B Gata H Kei
06 - Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
07 - Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
08 - Big Windup! Season 2
09 - Arakawa Under The Bridge
10 - Trigun: Badlands Rumble

Based on how little I watched last year, I was barely able to list ten titles, and even then some of what I listed I haven't gotten around to finishing yet. Ah well. I will say that I loved Princess Jellyfish, to the point where it somehow knocks the all-powerful Legend of Koizumi down to second place. In my mind, deranged otaku women edge out the greatest mahjong anime that there ever has been or will be.

Technicalities be damned, shouldn't Redline be on that list? One festival showing in 2009 surely shouldn't classify it as a 2009 release...

Wouldn't it count as a 2011 release? Less than a week till release.

Hell at this point I wouldn't doubt it being a 2012 release (for the actual non-JP B-R, damn Manga being so incompetent).

I don't watch a lot of anime, this was the only one I've seen on that list. That said, I enjoyed it a ton and hope to see Masaaki do something new soon.

It's actual theatrical run in Japan was last year, though, which is why it's be a 2010 release. That Wiki page was listing it as a 2009 release due to a single screening of an incomplete cut of the movie that screened at a film festival a good year beforehand.

Surprised High School of the Dead has gotten so few votes so far considering how much everyone seemed to like it. I admit even I thought it was great at first, but when it became the tits and ass show I stopped watching and ultimately ended my list at 7 picks rather include it.

Well here's my very short list.
1. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
2. Shiki
3. Highschool of the Dead
I'm sure there are anime that are not on the list in the OP, if they aired in 2010 add them.

1. Angel Beats
2. Bakuman
3. The Qwaser of Stigmata
4. Yumeiro Patissierre SP
5. Togainu no Chi
6. Heroman
7. The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

Evangelion 2.22 isnt up there?

Angel Beats was so hilarious and moving with great animation, music, and characters definitely one of the best ever. Bakuman has the lovable duo, Ashirogi Muto, that provided tons of laughs with one of my favorite opening and endings songs (Blue Bird, and Bakurock). Eiji was so hilarious being brought to life and all of Team Fukuda. Seikon no Qwaser had Sasha who was just such a cool protagonist. Tremble and Prostrate Yourself Before Me! Yumeiro was just so good and yummy, and the characters were funny.
