That's correct, whilst dynamic in the full game in the E3 demo build the rain starts at the same point in the race. The reasoning behind this is that people might only get one chance to try the game out on the showfloor, and we're keen for them to get a taste of the weather effects in action.

Isn't that how it works in most games that do weather? That's one of the reasons I've never been a big weather guy.

I kind of feel like it should just rain for the whole race, or not.

Crap, the rain is not 3D but just a local overlay! That's not how rain looks when driving, not even close. This is a pet peeves of mine when it comes to weather simulation in games Come on developers, it's 2014, not 1984..

I also wish the transition to rain would be more subtle instead of just BAM, RAIN.

Everything else looks great though..

That was addressed by Helios in the previous page: the transition is that fast and it happens at the same time in all videos to ensure the press could see it.

It's sped up.
