I am assuming Geoff like me was very much affected by MGS1 and the PlayStation, which is why he will have this bias. This may also explain the taste of this forum too which I feel is a bit more towards the PS side, perhaps just due to demographic of the user base.

I started lurking here on the last gen. If there was a PS bias, surely wasn't notable. Hell, even Mods made rightful fun of the PS3.
This forum is not biased for anything (some specific users are, sure, but you can tell quickly) except for what it's popular and fulfill their entertainment needs.

Considering how poorly MS justified the $499 price for the X, I honestly can't see how this isn't anything 'but' a positive for them (positive in this case meaning - less bad). Why do most people think it is expensive? It's better than the Pro with more capabilities. It's cheaper than an equivalent PC (at least where i live) and it is supposed to be a premium model. In my opinion XBOXs price is justifiable unlike XBOs launch price with the kinect.

I agree that it's more justifiable than the original price of the Xbox One, but you have to take into account that even though its specs are much higher than the XBO, it still only plays XBO games. So in many ways, though it's less expensive than an equivalent PC (citation needed), it doesn't do anything that the original XBO doesn't do, beyond a resolution bump.

But even if it isn't, just like Pro isn't forward compatible, i though that the target group is the more economical capable people. I won't be getting mid gen consoles any time soon as i don't change my phone more frequent than every 3 years or so. Why are people mad at these kind of things...

I think mad is the wrong word. Disappointed probably fits better, for the most part. I personally don't really care, because I have a PC with better specs, anyway, and every single game at their conference is gonna be on PC.
